Easter in Argyle

We had Easter at my parents in Argyle on Saturday evening.  The boys came in town for the KU game on Friday and we all got to hang out all weekend.  We all got to Argyle around 5 to have an Easter egg hunt.  Harper likes the egg hunts, but isn't really concerned with getting lots of eggs.  She just likes to pick one up and open it and show us.  Thankfully she didn't realize that they can candy in them because she can't eat it anyways.  She mostly just watched Grayson hunt because he was a pro.  Then she took all her eggs and found new hiding places for them.  She had fun watching and playing with everyone.

Ready, Set...

Go!

Dane was the best egg hunting uncle ever.  Every time they had found all
the eggs, he would steal some of theirs and hide them again so it never ended!

that she was after his basket and keep it a little closer to him.

My sweet baby

Isn't she getting so big?  She is such a good baby and has the best chubby cheeks!

Harper loves Reese and talks about her all the time.

Chasing Grayson.  Harper started saying his name this weekend but
could only get out "Gay-Gay".

Petting a kitten

She just learned to crawl this weekend.  She'll be getting around quick now.

Before dinner, we were all praying and I saw Grayson grab Harper's hand.  It was so cute that
grabbed Kristen's camera to snap a pic.  Right as I was doing that (and Dad was praying), we heard Grayson say "You're supposed to close your eyes..."  to Carleigh.  To which Brian replied, "How would you know if your eyes were closed?"  Grayson thought it was so funny!

After dinner and a bath, the cousins got their Easter baskets from Mimi and Pop.
They got a VeggieTales dvd and a big bubble wand.

Easter at our NEW House

So much has gone on with us in the last few weeks.  I wish I could say it's almost over, but it's not.  But we are progressing with our house(s) so that's at least the right direction.  Last week, we went up to Denison for an interview, Easter, and to clean up the house.  Here is how it turned out...

Harper eating donuts while we waited for Cody during his interview.  It's the only place I could find - no park, no play area, no fast food jungle gym.  I'm gonna have to figure out what we are going to do all day around here.  Cody's interview went great.  They love him, they just have to wait and see if any jobs open up.  They even tried to talk me into working.  Um, no...  But they seem like a very nice, laid back, caring district to work for.

After that, we went to our house to drop Maggie off and some of this stuff.  This is our car, completely full, and we were only staying 2 days.  However, we had to bring clothing, sleeping arrangements, and food for all of us for two days since they house has nothing.  So it was a lot.  Harper got to watch a VeggieTales movie on my laptop.  She finally figured out that if she really wants to watch it, she can't push all the buttons because inevitably she will push something that turns it off.  So she did ok for a kid who doesn't like the car.

After that, we met Kelly, Julianne, and Tessa at the library for an Easter party and egg hunt.  We needed to get out of the house since there isn't much for Harper to do there.  She had a blast.  Julianne and Tessa are such good big cousins.  They like to hold her hand, show her what to do, and play with her.  Sweet girls even gave Harper a new baby to play with.  One of the best reasons why moving to Denison is going to be ok...  :)  They read a story and did a little song and dance.  Harper watched the first time around, and got most of the moves about a second later the second time.

Julianne was quick enough to get her own Easter eggs and give Harper some.  Such a sweetie.  And Kelly got H this Easter basket because we didn't think to bring one.  She had a lot of fun.

Tessa finding eggs with her friend.  She is getting so big.

After the library, we had lunch and naptime.  After nap, Cody took us out to see the property.  I had never seen the rest of the land so I was pretty excited.  Sadly, it needs quite a bit of work, but that's all Cody and I think he is ok with that.  There is a shed that Bill used to use as his Ham radio operations.  It is a mini Ace Hardware store.  There is also a barn that has lots of boy junk in it.  There is a pond (it's pretty low from the last few years of drought).  Tons of trees and a creek.  I am looking forward to building Harper a tree house back there and a little dock that she can relax on by the pond.  She is going to love growing up here!

Left - shed.  Right - barn.  About 100 yards from the house.

The pond - about 1/2 it's normal size.

That afternoon, we were discussing our next few weeks and I suddenly went into panic mode.  We only had 2 weekends left before we had to be out of our house.  Which meant I needed to pack my house and clean out this house in two weeks.  We were supposed to start our remodel job in the middle of April - two weeks away.  And Nana's house was still FULL.  So we went into serious packing, cleaning, organizing mode and got everything ready for us to have an estate sale the next weekend.  Kelly and a few others came over the next day to help while the girls played outside with Maggie.  It was a panic stricken, hard working 24 hours, but we got it almost completely done before we left Friday evening.

Harper helping price everything for the estate sale.  In the end, we were all for sale.
I think Maggie was only $1 though!

Family Days

The other day was one of the best first days of spring ever.  It was just warm enough to be called "hot" in springtime (but will be longed for come august).  Warm in the sun, but cool in the shade.  It was perfect.  Since we had just spent the whole spring break selling our house, we took the last day to enjoy together, outside as a family.

We had a picnic outside under the trees.  Of course after 30 minutes of trying to get Harper to focus on eating instead of playing and yelling at the dog to stop trying to eat her food, we just went inside and finished lunch like normal.  But it was nice outside anyways.

After nap, we went for a bike ride.  That was perfect because it gave just enough wind to keep us cool for the afternoon.  We rode around HV and then ended up at the elementary school playground.  We played there for awhile and then headed home when we were all sweating and exhausted.  Cody pulled Harper in the trailer on the way there, and I did on the way home.  It's hard to pull an extra 50 lbs!  Harper sat back the whole way and cruised around with cheerios and her cool dude shades.

When we got home, Harper grabbed some water to drink.  And since she was there, we put her to work stacking all the waters in the fridge.  I can't wait till she can actually do chores around the house.  :)

The next day, Taylor and Carleigh spent the night and hung out.  We love having them over because we watch dumb tv/movies, eat dessert, and laugh about dumb stuff all night.  We went shopping for shoes and random stuff.  Taylor and Carleigh showed Harper how to get into some trouble at Target and which shoes were fashionable.

The next day we went to walk around the Shops of Highland Village.  I had a hair appointment and the girls were bored from spring break.  I guess they had a little too much fun while I was gone.  After that, we went to get sushi from a place in Grapevine that the girls had a groupon for.  Let's just say that it was mostly just a chinese food buffet with a little sushi.  And it was a little more like cafeteria food than restaurant food.  We played a game on the way back called "Foods that are better than Asian Top."

Avinley's 2nd Birthday

Sweet Avinley Katharine turned two!
She had a great spring birthday party last weekend and we got to play around and celebrate Avi!

The birthday girl eating her cupcake

Harper REALLY enjoyed her cupcake

Sweet Breken, one of our fav boys.
(I didn't get a picture of Bane)

During the opening of the presents, Avinley enjoyed every moment.  She really wanted to open the presents and throw away all the trash, so all the other kids wanted to play with her stuff while she was busy.  Finally, Christina sat the kids in front of MMC on her phone.  Brilliant.  That kept them good for the rest of it until food.

Harper got to enjoy the food.  Katharine had made sure all the food was completely allergy free.  Such a huge thing for us.  Usually she doesn't get to eat the same foods as everyone else!  Then while all the adults cleaned up the room, all the kiddos ran around like crazy.  It was a great birthday party.

Avi's hair is long enough for a bow!

Happy Birthday Avinley!  We love you!

The Circus with Ryder and Ellie

We went to the Shriner's Circus in Frisco with our friends Kelli and Ryder and Ana and Ellie.  Ana found tickets on groupon and we all decided to try it out.  It was a smaller circus, and it was close by, which was good because we didn't know how our sweet babies would do at the circus.  Thankfully, they did alright, but we all left halfway through because it was a little long.

When we first got there, all the kids got to walk around and see all the animals.  You could ride ponies, pet the dogs, meet some clowns, etc.  Sadly, we are all too cheap to pay an arm and a leg for a pony ride, plus our kids were all a little freaked out anyways, so we just walked around.

Because it was in Frisco at the Dr. Pepper Arena, it was a smaller place and we got much better seats.  We sat on the 3rd row, but it was funny because all of the seats around us were completely full even though 50% of the whole arena was empty.  So our kiddos had to sit on our laps the whole time, which they did ok but got a little restless.  Harper loved being in the middle because she could hold onto Kelli and Ryder with one hand and Ana and Ellie with the other.  She's very into holding hands these days.

This was the only picture we could get of her with a clown.  She really wanted NOTHING to do with them.  But they kept persisting, trying to give her a sticker and a hug.  Sorry fellas, she's like her mama in that clowns are creepy...

The circus was good.  They had camels and lions that ran around, dogs that jumped through hoops, and  tons of acts.  All these people that juggled, swung on a trapeze, twirled in the air by their hair, and danced with animals.  The best act was the elephant though, he was pretty amazing.

We have a great time with friends.  It'll be fun to see who Ryder asks out first, Harper or Ellie...  :)
On the way home, it was way past naptimes and Harper made it until we got 1 mile from home before melting down.  But it was worth it.  I think she is in love with circus animals.
