St Luke's and the Superbowl

Cody took off for Paige's birthday because we were all scattered the day after.  Cody took a carry class for his gun license.  He was gone from 8-5 but he had fun.  He knew most of the people and passed his test pretty easily.  Looks like he'll be packin' from now on.  Harper had her Jr Stingerette dance class from 9-3.  So it turned out to be just me and Paige for the day.  We stopped by the gym and then came home to play and drink coffee.  It was so different with just Paige.  It was probably our first time to be together without Cody and Harper for the whole day.  It felt so weird.  It was super quiet, no 4 year old to talk my ear off.  Paige needed a bit more attention because there was no 4 year old to play with her.  But it was so easy - just one baby.  I forgot what it was like to only have one.  After dinner, we had a night out with our friends.  The Hempkins' came and babysat so we could go to the St. Luke's Mardi Gras preschool charity event.  We got to hang out with the Haddock's, Piazza's, Helm's, Spiegel's, Pillow's, Driesselman's, and Evans'.  It is our new group of Denison families and it's the best.  Most of our kids will go to school together at Mayes and they'll all be in school together after that.  We talked and laughed and drank and ate and bid on stuff.  It was a great night!  After getting everything cleaned up, we headed to Byrd and Mike's new bar downtown.  It's a cute, quaint little bar that just opened that day.  We had a great time just talking and hanging out.  Love these girls!  After a very late night and a super early morning with Paige, we went to church and all took naps that afternoon.  That evening we all went to Piazza's to eat and hang out for the Superbowl.  The kids played the whole time so we didn't really have to do anything for them for a few hours.  Harper, Lucy, and Evelyn put on makeup and it was oh so pretty.  Paige stayed with us moms and we all just sat around and snacked and talked about the night before.  It was a fabulous and full weekend.

Junior Stingerette Camp

Harper and all the girls got to go to the Denison High School Junior Stingerette camp the day after Paige's birthday.  It was from 9-3 on a Saturday and she was super excited.  We kept telling her that she was going to get to have an all day dance class with the girls who get to dance on the football field.  She loves watching them so I knew she was excited.  All her friends went too... Julianne, Tessa, Reagan, Lucy, and Evelyn.  She even got to see her church teacher, Liz, there, whom we all love!  She was with a girl named Jordan and she kept telling me all about her.  I dropped her off and she got put in Jordan's group.  Sadly, all the girls were in different groups, but they still got to see each other.  They played games, like duck duck goose, had snacks, ate chicken nuggets for lunch, and colored.  They learned a dance and practiced their routine.  When I picked her up at 3, we got to see them do their routine a few times.  She looked so big when I dropped her off by herself, but when I saw her out there with all the other big kids, she looked so little!  She did a great job.  She loves to dance but doesn't have the best memory quite yet.  She is great watching Miss Jordan and following her.  Buddy came with me to watch the performance while Serena stayed with Paige napping.  She did such a great job!  When we got in the car, she sat down and I could see her kind of melt into her seat.  She didn't realize that she was so tired!  She hasn't really been anywhere for that long before.  I was super proud of her and she had the best day!  She got a tshirt to wear and a button with her and Miss Jordan.  She gets to perform at halftime of the DHS varsity boys basketball game next and I know she is super excited!

The next Tuesday she got to perform in the DHS Varsity boys basketball game halftime show.  It was supposed to start at 8, but it didn't until almost 9, so she was super tired!  She still did fantastic and we were so proud of her.  She just kept looking at us and smiling so big!

Happy 1st Birthday Paige Marie!

Paige turned 1 on Friday, February 5th.  The day before, Thursday, as I went to the gym, it felt so odd that it had been a year since I was headed to the gym and ended up at the hospital instead.  She is so big and beautiful and fun.  I just can't believe that she is 1.

Cody took the day off so we got to spend the whole day together.  Paige got up early so we played in the play room until everyone else was up.  Then, we went to breakfast at the Gourmet Waffle, which is owned by the same ladies that catered our wedding.  It was seriously good.  Their waffle was big and thick and the perfect crispy outside and chewy inside.  It's been awhile since we got to have a good breakfast so it was nice.  Afterwards, we headed to the doctors office to have Paige's well check and get Harper's allergy shots.  It did not go well...  Both girls screamed like banchees when they got their shots.

Afterwards, we headed home and had lunch and naps.  We had a fun afternoon just hanging out and playing.  We got to facetime with the Gatlin bros which was a huge bonus.  And after an early dinner, we sang happy birthday and she got to have her first cupcake.  She ate every bit of icing off the top and then stopped.  Harper got one too and did the exact same thing.  Those two are crazy together.

It was a great day and I'm so thankful that Paige makes us 4.
We love you Paige Marie!

Silly Sisters

We needed a few "head shots" of the girls for some games and such we were gonna play at the party.  So we had a photo shoot and it was hysterical.  Paige was so happy to get to stand on a chair and feel like a big girl.  She danced around and bounced up and down.  She is always smiling and I love her face when it's lit up!  Harper was next and wanted to look like a big girl.  She didn't like any of the pictures of her with her silly faces.  She looks so big here!
