Thanksgiving in Argyle

We had Thanksgiving dinner with my family in Argyle on Friday evening.  Kristi made a chicken pasta since we had all had turkey the day before.  She made the meal beforehand so we all got to relax all evening instead of cooking.  I brought a pecan caramel cheesecake that was easy but super good, and we all ate tons of good food.  We are definitely getting better at this family dinner thing.

Cody and I had gotten up early and gone black friday shopping.  We got some fun stuff for us and a few Christmas presents.  We headed to Argyle early so we could hang with the family and let Harper nap.  We had thanksgiving leftovers for lunch and played some wii.  Kristi and I did some online shopping and Taylor had to work.  It was nice to be back there, just hanging out and enjoying the day.

Dane was still in Austin and Eric had to get back for a friend, so they weren't able to make it.  The McCool's got there after naptime and we all talked and played with the kids.  My parents set up their train tracks and the kids played with it for awhile.  Grayson and Harper love each other, but they seem to want to play with the same thing at the same time.  So they had some sharing issues, but Reesey never seems to care.  She's much easier going with both of them.

Harper is SUCH a lover right now.  She is big into hugging and kissing.  I get tons of hugs and kisses each day, and I mean real, choking, bear hugs and awesome slobbery kisses.  But I love it - she is such a sweet girl.  I am so thankful!

We all sat down to dinner and it was good but chaotic.  Reese wanted food faster than they could give it to her.  Harper didn't want anything except the bread.  And Grayson didn't really want to eat at all.  Eventually, G just got down to go play.  About 5 or 10 minutes later, he yelled for Brian to help him.  He had walked all the way up the stairs, along the outside of the rail.  He got up to the top and got stuck!  Brian wasn't sure if he should stay at the bottom to catch him if he fell, or go up the stairs to grab him.  And of course, Kristen ended up taking a picture because that's what she does.  It's always good to see the funny moments!

Kristi got all the kids matching PJ's.  We always want to take their picture so we can do a cute Christmas craft for the grandparents.  However, no matter how hard we tried, we couldn't get a decent picture.  And we tried hard.  There were at least 5 adults standing in front of them ( and 2 cameras trying to capture just one picture where they were all smiling.  Eventually Reese was done sitting (it was bedtime) and Harper and Grayson just didn't care.  They played Hop on Pop like they usually do.  Kristen was taking pictures and I was piling kids on top.  I wasn't paying attention and Reese tumbled off the side once.  Whoops!

Happy Thanksgiving!
