The summer is full of birthdays and we are constantly celebrating. My parent's birthdays are two days apart so we at least celebrate those together. This year, we all went to this new place called the Little Elm Beach. It was so great! A manmade beach, not too big, just right for a day, picnic tables and a pavilion, and a playground. It was perfect. It was also the best weather, warm without being miserable hot. We all got there and the kids had a blast playing in the water and the sand. I'll admit that us girls mostly sat and just chatted, but the men kept the kids entertained and happy. Cody and Mimi played baseball with Grayson. Mimi taught Harper how to build sand castles. And Reese was happy everywhere - playing, swimming, sand, etc. It was relaxing and nice to just enjoy being outside.
After awhile, we headed up to the picnic area and grilled hot dogs. The kids were extremely entertained by the geese down at the water. They were a little afraid of a goose attack, but they still liked feeding the ducks and watching them waddle around. We all ate lunch and had cupcakes for dessert. We sang happy birthday and had a great time. We thought we would stay there even longer, but suddenly we were all exhausted. Plus, we knew we had quite a bit of cleanup and such to get out of there (i hate sand!). The kids ran around while the adults got everything ready to go. Then, right at the end, Taylor ended up getting pooped on by a bird. It was pretty funny and a great way to end the day. Happy Birthday Mimi and Pop!
