Whitney invited our bible study girls to her parents pool in Pottsboro to swim on a Monday afternoon. Jen doesn't work on Mondays and Rosanna is off for summer like us so it was great. Sadly, Erin was up north visiting family so we missed her! The three kiddos are pretty close in age and play great together. The swam and laughed and made us adults do silly things. It was a great afternoon just relaxing with friends. And despite the pictures, Harper had a blast. She just doesn't care for picture taking these days. Might be my overdoing it. Oops.

Crazy People have Crazy Friends
Our new play group is not just friends for Harper, but friends for me too. They are some of the most fun, relaxed, and hilarious women I know. There is no judgement, more like common horror stories. They let loose and have fun and stay up way past bedtimes. These are some crazy mommas! We meet once a month to hang out, eat a lot, and craft. This month we met at MaryRuth's new house in Van Alstyne. It is seriously cute and perfect for their family and has an amazing backyard. Plus she has done a ton of cute stuff to it! We were supposed to craft but we were all a little tired because it's already been a full month of summer (seriously) so we just ate lots of food and sat around her fire pit eating large amounts of smores. Some of the things we talk about are insane. Men. Babies. Family. Friends. Church. Crazy people we know/saw/hear of. I literally laughed all night long. And I didn't get home until almost 2am. And the other moms were worse than that! This is a group of lets go, talk, bye, talk some more, etc. And I love it! We do play dates about once a week and we text as often as we can. And sometimes those text messages fly in at an alarming rate. Kristi started this text set and sent this amazing picture. Then all of us followed suit, including the fact that Tina's looks sweet and sane and happy compared to the rest of us hot messes; and MaryRuth looks absolutely crazy with the fact that she was doing laundry and happened to have a bonnet nearby. Love these amazing ladies and the joy they bring to my life!
A morning playing with Harper girl
The morning after Harper's party, we got to sit around the house before church and just hang out. We hadn't done this in 2 full weeks. It was awesome. She climbed around the couch, threw all the cushions off, took some selfies and a few of us. I love her and love getting to see what her little eye sees. Isn't she just the cutest?

New Playset
When you live in the country, not really close to anything, and you have 10 acres to play on, you need to have lots of toys. She has her trampoline and loves it but I knew she would also love a play set. She loves to climb, swing, and slide and this makes it easy for her to play anytime she wants. We wanted to get the play set done early in the summer so she could play outside any time we were working out there. Cody did almost all the work himself. He figured out what he wanted and found a diy plan. We got all the wood and he set about building the base first. We got it set in concrete, then the swing set put in concrete, and then he built the fort. He loves to do woodworking and he is so good at it. We are lucky that we had some friends give us an old slide and Cody's parents bought Harper some playset accessories for her birthday. It still needs a roof and some more fun stuff added on, but she loves it! Plus, we are going to build a stand up swing that makes life way more fun!
We were also putting up the new fence while we were building the play set and one day I bought a t post from Lowes. I didn't want it to scratch my car, so I strapped it in. You could say i'm not native country. We may need a truck soon. Plus, we got Harper's pool put up so she could play outside while we were working one day. It took a good 20 minutes to blow up and she only played in it for about 15. But I think she'll like it eventually. There's only so much one person can do to play by themselves for so long.
June Photodump
June has been random. We have been at home a lot, working on the backyard. And in between full days of work, we have been playing with friends, visiting family, and having fun with Harper. We had a birthday party in Highland Village so while we were on our way down, we called Taylor and Carleigh and they met us with us for a little while. We ran around Academy and then had Bahama Bucks for the first time. I love them. They are my favorite teenagers of all time! Harper's too. She always asks to FaceTime them so they can "talk on the video."
Harper is in love with letter pancakes, well pancakes of any kind. I love when little things like this make her so happy! She really is just happy all the time. She is such a sweet little girl (that doesn't mean she doesn't have major attitude problems, but they are less often!). She is a lover, hugging and kissing. She is a dancer, twirling and leaping around the house. She is a singer, whether it's Frozen or a song she made up about her day. She is a mover and a shaker, constantly shaking her tush for anyone that will watch and laugh. She is independent, playing with toys by herself and making up stories for her dolls. Her new favorite word is everyday. She uses it as often as she can. She has been super excited for her birthday and we talk about it all the time. She is such a joy to have around the house and this stage of life with her is so fun!
She is getting so much better now that we used the sticker chart and we set some guidelines. We don't even really use it anymore unless we have a bad day. She still fights about clothes, but now I give her options and I don't force certain things. She does however like to match, like full blown all out, match panties, shorts, shirts, shoes, etc. I've told her that if a shirt has multiple colors, you only have to match one of them, but that doesn't sit well with her. One day, she picked out an outfit that actually all matched (Pink of course!) and I tried to explain that it was TOO matching, but I guess there is no such thing for her. Since summer started, she has been super busy and has randomly napped a few times. Especially if we are in the car in the late afternoon. This has led to some late nights, but those have led to some late mornings, which is always ok with us in the summer!
We spent a day in Lewisville seeing friends and family. I had a lunch date with my Aunt Lissa in Grapevine and we had Mexican food and talked for a few hours. It was awesome. We haven't gotten to do it since we moved and I enjoyed spending time with her. Since we were in Grapevine, we spent the morning at the Ark in Coppell and the Long's and the Hunt's met us for a quick playdate. Afterwards, we spent the afternoon in Argyle seeing my family. My sisters had a half day because of finals and we all got to just hang out. And of course she got to bathe and wear the puppy towel.
Cody has been home for summer and hasn't really even had summer. We have worked every single day that we have been home but it's going well. The fence is almost completely done and we'll do the patio area in July. Harper has been so good but has definitely needed some extra attention when we are done. One day while I cooked dinner, she surrounded me with random things and told me I couldn't move. She still loves puzzles and it's one of Cody's favorite things to do with her. He also loves to play hide and seek with her - they are so funny together! He is such a great dad, we are lucky girls!
Celebrating June!
June is a seriously busy month every year. We just got finished celebrating Grayson's birthday, the start of summer, Cody and Taylor's birthday, Father's Day, and then Harper's birthday. It feels like the parties never end! The majority of our family celebrations occur between May and August. It's crazy! So this year, we celebrated with my Dad the weekend before since Kristen was going out of town to S. Padre. Then, Father's Day weekend, we celebrated Buddy and Mark for Father's Day and Cody's birthday. My mom also gave Harper her birthday presents early since birthday parties are usually too overwhelming for her to open gifts. Harper got a new pool for the backyard and some new clothes, which she loved because KK also got her matching panties and headbands for each outfit! Cody got his new boots which he was super excited about and a new Yeti cooler, which was even more surprising. Harper then spent the rest of the evening playing in the cooler and in the box. It was just the right size for her! I'd say it was a great day! Cody grilled and we had dinner and strawberry cake for dessert. It was a great evening just to sit and relax and enjoy company.
