Thanksgiving 2015

Thanksgiving this year was looking kind of bleak at first.  The Shattuck family wasn't getting together.  The Polley's had a ton going on...a new baby for Mark, Brian just getting home from England, Scott still gone in Qatar, and Keith getting home.  I think Papa Bob was floating down the Amazon River (I know - crazy!).  So we decided to do Dad's and Hempkins'.  Then, the boys decided not to come and we were a little sad.  But it ended up being a great day and we had a really good day just being with family.  

We put the girls in the car during Paige's morning nap and headed to Argyle.  We spent the first half of the day with them just sitting around and talking.  Taylor was home from school and doing great.  Carleigh was happy to be not busy with senior year and work.  Maxine and Bob were in from Kansas.  And the cousins love spending time together.  I'm not sure how we passed 5 hours, but it went quickly.  Lunch was delicious and it was nice to sit at the table afterwards and pretend like the kids and the dishes weren't really there.  After Paige's nap time, we headed back home to have dinner with the Hempkins.  It was another really yummy dinner (I seriously don't mind eating Thanksgiving food twice in one day!)  Afterwards, we brought the girls home to bathe and go to bed and then had dessert over here.  It was nice to sit and chat, which we don't normally have time to do.  I can't believe Thanksgiving has come and gone.  November went by in a flash and now it's almost Christmas!

That weekend, we headed back to Kristen's to celebrate Thanksgiving with KK and Mark.  The kids just played all evening and wrestled with Mark.  The guys fed babies and watched football.  The girls talked Christmas and kid presents.  It was a nice relaxing evening.

Happy Birthday Reagan!

Reagan had her 5th birthday at the gymnastics place where she and Harper have classes.  So Harper got to celebrate and play all over the gym for over an hour.  She loves that place, but she loves to run around even more.  She had a blast. Sadly, I didn't get any pictures of the gymnastics part because Paige was up to no good.  It's hard to be the baby and not be able to play with the big girls.  But I did let Paige have a bite of my cupcake, so hopefully she's all better now.  We had a great time and were happy to get to see Kelly for a bit.  Happy Birthday Reagan!

Aggie Game

We had been talking about going to an A&M game this year since the stadium just got rebuilt.  We picked a game that was not a big opponent and towards the end of the schedule.  We usually can get cheap or decent seats by that time.  But after going camping a few weekends and working on the house, we were kind of tired being gone and busy.  But on Friday afternoon, Cody came home from school and spontaneously wanted to go.  We bought tickets online and got his parents to babysit.  We left at noon the next day and drove straight down.  We got there at 4, just in time to stop by some tailgates.  We visited with Gabe and Megan at the TexAgs tailgate and got to meet Everley for the first time.  Then we stopped by a tailgate with Kari and Joe Piazza.  We love that Joe went to A&M too so that Cody and he have tons in common.  Plus, now we get to hang out more often!  We went to the game and sadly, had horrible seats.  Of course Joe and Kari got seats at the 50 yard line, 5th row up.  We were at the top of the third deck on the end of the end zone.  We thought we would be able to trade up, but it ended up being a pretty full game.  We played a non-threatening team but we almost didn't win because we didn't play our best.  Either way, we won in the end and the stadium was beautiful.  I'm glad we went because we got some good alone time and to enjoy another day in College Station.  Cody drove home until 2am and I slept and then I got up with the girls at 6am.  It was a crazy day but it was worth it!
